Basshunter

Jonas lives in Sweden, Halmstad, with his mother, father and his younger brother. He's a big fan of "Defense of the Ancients" a.k.a. DotA, which is a well known custom map for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne of which he has spent a lot of time playing in the recent years with his mate Bassmonkey and also created a song about - "Vi sitter i Ventrilo och spelar dota". He says that it was a coincidence he was discovered.

The Swedish lyrics of the song "Boten Anna" tell the story of a female IRC user mistaken for an IRC bot by the vocalist who later finds out the truth; subsequently, however, he states that she will always remain a bot in his eyes. Despite the esoteric subject of the lyrics, the song was well-received by mainstream media, albeit the word bot was frequently mistaken for boat as many people don't know how to pronounce bot correctly, and the double meaning of channel IRC channel mistaken for the water body with the same name - channel, the Dutch carnival group Gebroeders Ko covered the track with a Dutch text about a bot called Anna. The video to the song shows Basshunter riding a pedal boat down a canal which may have further added to the confusion.
