I.O.S. stands for Is Ook Schitterend was set up in 1996 by a group of friends from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. They play so called Nederpop, which is pop music with Dutch lyrics. The band consisted first of Joost Marsman Vocals, Rubin Geurts Drums Sander Rozeboom Guitar, Matthijs van Dongen Guitar, Jasper Bos, Marc van der Voorn piano. After there first success with Voltooid Verleden Tijd past perfect, fromt he album Hemel&Aarde heaven&earth van der Voorn decided to remove himself from IOS. He wasn't replaced. Their next album was released in 1999 and was called Dichterbij closer. This was their break through to the main audience. In 2001 Geurts decided to quit and was replaced by Dim Junius. For a while nothing was released by the band and they decided to change their artist label to CNR Records. With their album -4-, released in 2005 they made a big success with the single Uit de schaduw out of the shadow which is known from a commercial. In December 2005 Dim Junius stopped drumming and was replaced by Pepijn van den Boogaard.
