Sunrise Avenue

Sunrise Avenue was the first Finnish band ever to have an international record deal before their debut album was even published.

The band was first started by lead singer Samu Haber and guitarist Janne Krkkinen in 2002. Not long afterwards Raul Ruutu, the bass player, joined the group, and Sami Osala took on the drums in the fall of 2005.

The key element of their music is excellent songs that sound as good - if not sometimes better - when stripped and played acoustically; the catchy melodies and harmonious singing contrasts beautifully with the bass and drums that bring them to life.

In October 2006 the band received a Gold Record for the album 15,000 sold copies in Finland.In February 2007 the band received a Platinum Record for the album 30,000 sold copies in Finland.In February 2007 the band received a Gold Record for the single "Fairytale Gone Bad"10,000 sold copies in Swedem.In April 2007 the band received a Gold Record for the album 100,000 sold copies in Germany.

At NRJ Radio Awards 2007 largest Nordic radio awards the band won in four categories:- Best Finnish newcomer - Best Finnish Song Fairytale Gone Bad - Best Finnish Album On The Way To Wonderland - Best Nordic Artist
