Taylor Swift![]() Taylor Alison Swift born December 13, 1989 is a country music singer-songwriter from Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. At the age of 15, she became the youngest recruit to Big Machine Records, a joint venture between former Dreamworks executive Scott Borchetta and country superstar Toby Keith. In 2006, at only 16, she released her debut single &8220;Tim McGraw&8221;, which was a hit song on the Country charts. Her pursuit of country music stardom was the subject of &8220;GAC Short Cuts,&8221; a part-documentary, part-music video series that aired during the summer of 2006 on the country music channel Great American Country. Her self-titled debut CD was released on October 24, 2006. It peaked at 19 selling more than 40,000 during its first week. She moved to the Nashville suburb of Hendersonville with her family in 2003. She sang the national anthem at the November 12, 2006 Nascar race and at the November 23, 2006 Thanksgiving Day football game between the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions. She also performed at halftime at a recent Pittsburgh Steelers game. Near the end of 2007, her debut album was re-released into a Deluxe edition including a few more recorded tracks, after her 1 hit &8220;Teardrops On My Guitar&8221; crossed over and became a Top Ten hit on Mainstream Pop radio. In 2008, following a string of hit singles including Tim McGraw, Teardrops, Our Song, and Picture To Burn, Taylor has released a fifth single from her multi-platinum debut, which was included in the re-release called 'I'm Only Me When I'm With You,' along with a Top Ten video to accompany it. As of March 2008, Swift is currently enjoying another Mainstream Pop hit with a more rockalternative version of her 1 country hit, &8220;Our Song&8221; and a triple-platinum album, selling over 120,000 copies of the re-release it's first week and continuing to stay just outside the Top Ten Billboard 200 Albums each week since.
