Tina Turner is a woman who can't be described in one word. She has defied time, age, and Rock N Roll. From her days as the other half of the Ike and Tina Turner Review when she was belting out Soulful blues and Raunchy rock, everyone knew that she was something new; a unique invision of soul. After her divorce from Ike Turner, she took on a solo career in the late 70's. It wasn't until 1983, with the release of a cover of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" that she proceed to make one of the greatest comebacks in history of music. Tina Turner's debut solo album "Private Dancer" produced numerous hits and earned her four Grammy Awards. Tina Turner brought her story to the the public through her best- selling biography "I, Tina", written with Kurt Loder. In 1985, she had the oppurtunity display her acting skills in "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" beside Mel Gibson. Tina Turner gained an Image Award for her performance as Aunty Entity in the movie. She followed "Privated Dancer" with "Break Every Rule" and "Foreign Affair". Each album was followed by successful world tours.ATina Turner announced that she would be retireing after the "Foreign Affair" Tour.

Ike and Tina Turner were inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 and in 1993, Tina Turner's life story was made into a motion picture. The title interestingly: "What's Love Got To Do with It. Although she felt that it was very loosely based on her "real" story. She helped promote it with a fresh remakes of old Ike and Tina numbers. She also recorded three new songs for the album. Among the new songs was the 9 hit "I Don't Wanna Fight" She followed the album with an American tour.

Tina Turner came out of retirement to make her first original album in 1995 after the success of "Goldeneye" from the James Bond film. She released "Wildest Dreams" in 1996, became the spokeswoman for Hanes Hosiery, and embarked on yet another world tour that continued into 1997. One would think that at 56 Ms. Turner had done enough to fulfill a lifetime of achievements, but there was more to come.

In 1999, Tina Turner turned 60 and released the album "Twenty Four Seven" and a world tour followed. She announced once more that this would be her last tour. The "Twenty Four Seven" tour was ranked the 1 tour of 2000. In 2004, she released "All the Best", a compilation of her career's work, in Europe. It was released in February of 2005 in the U.S. It debuted at 2 on the charts. "All the Best" also included 3 new tracks. She promoted the album in the U.S during 2005.

In December of 2005 Tina Turner was honored with the prestigious Kennedy Award for her achievements in her musical career. Currently in 2006, Tina Turner and singer Elisa have released the song "Teach Me Again", which is 1 in Italy Mar.1, 2006 The song is for the movie "All the Invisible Children" and all the sales go to UNICEF, which benefits the welfare of children in poor countries around the world.

Tina Turner has a career that has spanned five decades. She has had a life filled with ups and and tremendous downs, yet she managed to prevail to be the most successful female rock singer in history. She is an inspiration for people everywhere.At 66, she still has plans for the future. She is a woman of genuine wisdom and dignity. She is a force, an orignal, The Queen of Rock, and most importantly she is a Legend of our time.
